Why offer free menstrual care products at work?

Get started here

Everyone should be able to feel equally comfortable in the workplace and never have to interrupt a day because menstrual care products are not available.

Having an unexpected period without access to menstrual protection affects people in different ways. The situation causes feelings of shame, irritation and stress. Having to leave work to buy sanitary protection can be time-consuming and not everyone may have that option.

By offering RedLocker, you are helping to normalise periods. Providing free menstrual care products helps to ensure that you can always feel safe if your period comes unexpectedly or if you have forgotten your menstrual protection.

Mats Ekenstam - CEO, Boards on Fire

"It feels great that in such a male-dominated industry, we can show our colours and actively do something that breaks taboos and actually creates change. We don't differentiate between people and people, and we want everyone to feel equally welcome - regardless of gender."

Erika Dahlström - Head of Sales, GBJ bygg

"I am happy and proud that we at Clarion Hotel Sign have introduced RedLocker in the workplace. I think it should be a matter of course for women and the fact that we offer it at the hotel feels like a step in the right direction towards a more equal society. Hopefully, in the future, it will be a given that it is offered in all workplaces."

Johanna - Clarion Hotel Sign

How many employers offer menstrual protection

About half of all workers in Sweden think that free menstrual protection should be offered, but unfortunately this is not the case. Only 10% of Sweden's workplaces currently offer free menstrual protection.

Many employers offer benefits such as coffee, milk, fruit and refreshments. The toilets also offer sanitary products in the form of toilet paper, soap and paper towels, which most people take for granted. So why is access to menstrual care products not a matter of course?

I want to be part of it!
