SVT Helsingborg-
It has been several years since Kungsgårdsskolan in Ängelholm introduced free tampons in four of the girls' toilets. For the students at the school, the menstrual product dispensers have saved them many times.
"It can be a bit embarrassing to ask a teacher if you can get a pad or tampon. Now you don't have to use paper and risk bleeding through your pants,“ says Ana Vucicevic, a pupil in year 8.
Principal Terese Torle also agrees that it is an important initiative.
”In secondary school, there are also several girls who get their period for the first time. It's not much fun to have to go to the office and ask for menstrual products. It's also a question of freedom for young girls and women," she tells SVT.
